History

Building Hope Ministries, Inc. (BHM) was birthed in March 2007 as a result of Michael Callahan's first India missions trip in 2006 and a burden laid on his heart by the Spirit of the Lord in February 2007 to reach out to the people of Andhra Pradesh, India; specifically the West Godavari District.

From March 2007 through May 2007, a Board of Directors was formed for the ministry in addition to a praise and worship team known as The Project. In May 2007, BHM was incorporated in the state of Maryland. Two additional directors were added to the ministry in October 2008.

Since its inception, BHM has been involved in seven missions trips to India.
In 2007 and 2008, most of the missions work took place in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh (AP), India and surrounding villages. Other ministry activity occurred in Hyderabad, AP, India. This trip was very strategic in nature as future plans were discussed for churches, schools, and orphanages.

Since 2009, all ministry activity has taken place in Eluru, AP.
The most recent missions trip was in June 2010. A team of five people visited Eluru. By God's grace, our trip was extremely successful. It included the following:

• 75 people received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• 25 widows were given rice packets to last them one month
• Eight caregivers of 55 orphans were given clothes
• A local Dalit community was distributed rice and chicken packages so they may eat
• Pastors were encouraged during a pastor's conference
• Women were encouraged during a women's conference
• 55 children from two orphanages were visited (played games, gave gifts, had fun!!!)
• Multitudes of people were prayed for

Building Hope Ministries, Inc. is an approved 501(c)3, non-profit organization. This status was given to the organization during the first quarter of 2008.
